Wrestlemania.  The Showcase of the Immortals.  The grandest stage of them all.

The show that makes me reevaluate professional wrestling, yet again.

Wrestlemania is wrestling’s Super Bowl.  It’s Stanley Cup.  It’s become more than just WWE’s annual big show.  Over the last ten years or so, Wrestlemania weekend has become a celebration of all things wrestling.  ROH, Evolve, and other indy companies always relocate to the Mania host city to do big shows that weekend.  There’s Axxess, WWE’s fan festival where you can do anything from meet your favorite superstars to watch some live wrestling to walk through a mini museum of WWE’s past.  There’s the Hall of Fame ceremony, where wrestling’s legends are honored.  There’s WrestleCon and other wrestling events.  It’s a big deal.

It’s no lie or even a secret that we here at Kick Out at 2 have been out of the current product for a while.  I still catch the PPVs and keep an ear to the ground on what’s going on with Raw, but in 2016, I have watched a total of two complete episodes of Monday Night Raw…and one was because I was at the event.  As the injuries mounted and the card came together, we were not getting excited about Mania whatsoever over here in Ko@2land.

Wrestlemania, however, finds a way.  As Friday bled into Saturday and eventually Sunday, all I could think about was wrestling.  There wasn’t a single thing on my television on Sunday that didn’t happen in a squared circle.  I found myself getting excited.  I found myself wishing I had called a few friends over and had a Wrestlemania party.  I found myself wishing I was back in Virginia so we could have a Kick Out at 2 Wrestlemania Party ourselves, with blackjack and…well, I digress.  What I’m saying is that the part of me that loves pro wrestling awoke and Wrestlemania was the full moon that brought it to snarling life.

So, let’s talk about Mania.  I’m not going to do a full breakdown like I do on Nitro or something like that.  For one, there are other places that do that stuff with the current product.  For another, from start to finish, Wrestlemania was almost SEVEN HOURS LONG!  The pre-show started at 5, the show ended at fifteen till midnight.  That’s ridiculous.  I can barely stomach a three hour Raw anymore, so trying to write up seven hours would be maddening.  For most of the event, I was on XBOX Live with Derick and Robbie, so I know their thoughts on the card and for almost every point I make, rest assured that I speak with the full authority of us here at Kick Out at 2.

This card let me down.  Just the card, out of the gate.  Now, I know that’s due to injuries, so I’m not spending too much time on this, but going into the show, I was excited for THREE matches.  Three…in a seven hour show.  I wanted to see the Intercontinental Championship ladder match, AJ Styles VS Chris Jericho, and Shane McMahon VS The Undertaker.  I’m not a Roman Reigns fan in the slightest, so that match didn’t have my attention at all…but we’ll get to that later on.

We get the undercard on the pre-show, which I always feel bad for because these guys deserve to be on the main show.  It’s telling at how bloated the roster is right now when you can’t fit your important guys on the show in five hours.  I’m not exactly calling for a brand extension or a roster split…but we gotta do something here.  Anyway, Ryback and Kalisto was a pretty decent match albeit one that looked like it was contested in front of about 45 people because of how early in the pre-show it happened.  They’ve finally given Ryback a bit of personality, but he’s a heel now which is dumb.  People like this guy as a monster babyface.  Do that.  The Total Divas VS non-Total Divas match was useless except to let us know that there are at least 13 women in this division, which is ridiculous when only about six of them can put on a decent match to save their lives.  We were treated to the in-ring debut of Lana, which was meh, and the main roster return of Eva Marie, which was totally useless.  Brie Bella wins with the Yes Lock, which I liked.  Usos VS Dudley Boys was nothing special but it was interesting when the crowd booed the crap out of the Usos at the end of the match.

So, on to Wrestlemania! I enjoyed the ending to ONE match.  ONE!

Now, I read a comment on Reddit today that kind of drew this post out of me.  The guy, and I’m paraphrasing here, basically said “you’re a bunch of smarks who are pissed their favorite guy didn’t win.”  I’ll go on record as saying that one of the things I have a problem with is that my guy didn’t win in ONE match.  That was AJ Styles.  I love AJ Styles unapologetically and wanted him to win.  Especially when Jericho has been putting people over at Mania for years now.  And he didn’t.  So…that upset me.  I saw no real reason why Styles couldn’t win, but I ultimately don’t think it hurt Styles and I don’t know if it’ll be the end of their feud, but still…Wrestlemania should be about making new talent.  AJ debuted as the hottest free agent in pro wrestling, so him being beaten by a man who everyone can beat now doesn’t really do much for him going forward.  Chalk it up to WWE’s 50/50 booking lately, I suppose.  Now, with that out of the way, I can assure you that anything else I have a problem with doesn’t come from a place of “I’m pouting because my guy didn’t win.”

The Intercontinental Championship match was awesome and was the match of the night and the moment of the night for me.  I was legitimately excited to see Zack Ryder win and I hope that he gets a push that continues for a long time.  He’s earned it more than anyone else on that roster.

The Divas…nay…Women’s Championship match was pretty good.  I’m not invested in any of these ladies, though, so Charlotte winning didn’t do much or detract from anything for me.  It simply was.  I did like Sasha wearing tights commemorating Eddie Guerrero, though, as well as Charlotte coming out in a robe made of Flair’s 2008 robe.  That was pretty tight.  I like the new Women’s Championship belt as well.  It’s way better than the Divas title.  I’m also very glad the Divas moniker is gone.

Why’d New Day lose?  They’re the hottest thing WWE has right now.  I get that the loss doesn’t hurt them, per se, but still, send people home happy.

Or, was sending people home happy why we got the three legends coming out to beat down the League of Nations?  I’m not going to lie, I marked at this.  I enjoyed seeing some Stone Cold Stunners get tossed around.  This, along with Zack Ryder, made my night.

Ambrose losing was probably inevitable, but I think they could have done more in building him up to be a legit threat to Lesnar.  I never felt that Lesnar was in trouble through the entire match.  Plus, I’m getting tired of Suplex City.  Brock is a great wrestler, but his entire repertoire has been reduced to two moves.  I’m over it.  Brock got the win and deserved it, but they’ve basically established that no one can beat Brock.  He’s Godzilla.  Who’s that going to help?

Now…let’s get to the two that really upset me…

  • Roman Reigns wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the third time.

There’s so much about that sentence that makes me unhappy.  Like I said before, I’m not a fan of Roman Reigns.  He has no charisma.  He’s not a great wrestler.  He can’t talk to save his life.  I just don’t like him.  Nothing against him…I just can’t get into him.  He was my least favorite part of The Shield but he’s the part that’s getting shoved down my throat week in and week out for the last year.

I’m not alone in this.  100,000 people booed the living crap out of Roman Reigns last night.  They booed him so much that they had to lower the mic volume to keep it from sounding bad.  This was so apparent that one of my 9th graders came in today commenting about it.  The “WWE Universe” does not want Roman Reigns as champion.  For the last two months they’ve been telling WWE that at Raw, Smackdown, and live shows.  HHH has been the odds on babyface through this entire feud and has been cheered relentlessly for it.  He was the man last night and he was who everyone wanted to see win.  Except he didn’t.  Vince didn’t listen to his audience.  He didn’t listen to his fans.  He didn’t listen to the people who pay for tickets and merch and the WWE Network.  Nope…he gave Roman the belt.  For the third time.

You see, I can deal with a champion I don’t want.  But I can’t deal with one that now only has one less world title reign than Shawn freaking Michaels!  WWE does this stupid thing recently where a guy’s first title reign or so doesn’t matter.  Roman wins it in November…boom, Sheamus cashes in on him.  He wins it a month later…boom, HHH wins it from him in the Rumble.  So, now, he’s a three time champion out of nowhere, the crowd still can’t stand him, but there we go.

One would think this would be my biggest issue with last night, but that one is reserved for….

  • WHY DID SHANE McMAHON LOSE?!

What the living hell, WWE?!  Now, I understand that having a 46 year old man who was never a legit wrestler come out and beat the Phenom seems kind of silly, but you have to look at the narrative that went into that match.  Shane comes out two months ago and says he’s going to be the voice of the people and he’s going to change the sinking ship that is WWE for the better.  He’s going to wrest power away from The Authority and take back Monday Night Raw, as well as his legacy as Vince McMahon’s son and heir apparent.  Then, after last night, it’s just over.  No change.  No Raw is Shane.  No nothing.  Just the same as it ever was.

Here’s the problem with this, and it flows into my problem with Roman…

With this angle, WWE came out point blank and said yes, our ratings are tanking.  Yes, we know we’re not as awesome as we once were.  Yes, we know you hate The Authority opening the show with 20 minute glad-handing promos.  Yes, we know you want it to be better.

They gave that potential change a face.  A face we all love.  A face some people have legitimately been wanting to show back up and wrest real life control of the WWE back from his father, sister and brother-in-law.  They gave us Shane o’Mac; a man who’s awesomeness is only topped by his fire shoe game.

Then they beat him and took it all away.

Go back and watch the very end of that match.  Taker sarcastically pats Shane on the cheek as if to say “it’s so cute how you thought it would change…”and then plants our hopes and dreams of a new day on Raw tonight right on their head in the center of the ring with a Tombstone piledriver.  With that match, Vince McMahon told the fans watching the WWE that he hears their complaints…and that he just doesn’t care.

Damian Sandow tweeted out today that if we have opinions, make sure they hear them tonight.  Now, Damian was speaking in reference to the ovation he got in the Andre Memorial Battle Royal last night.  If we’re a fan, tell WWE so they’ll know.  Unfortunately, Damian, we’ve tried letting Vince know what we think.  We tried it at the Royal Rumble last year.  We tried it at Wrestlemania last year.  We tried it at the Royal Rumble this year.  We tried it through the entire lead up to Wrestlemania.  We tried that AT Wrestlemania.  Hell, we even tried it a few years ago WITH YOU.  If it’s not in Vince’s master plan, he’s not listening.  What he wants to happen is what’s going to happen, us be damned.

Vinnie Hears Ya

I always hold NXT up as proof that this company can run a wrestling promotion the way that fans want.  NXT has long term storytelling that makes sense.  NXT has great wrestling action.  NXT has minimal intrusion from “authority figures.”  NXT put on a show on Friday with not a single gimmick match.  Just singles matches and tag team matches.  It blew Wrestlemania out of the water.  It’s not even close.  NXT: Takeover is the better wrestling show.  And they accomplished it in two hours.  WWE, the biggest wrestling promotion in the world, took seven and was really only able to piss me off.  This company knows what to do…they just refuse to do it on a larger scale.

I’m going to wrap up with this.  Wrestlemania is in Orlando next year.  Four hours from my apartment here in Miami.  Until last night, all I could talk about was getting a group together to hit Mania weekend and everything that comes with it.  Last night, after the show had gone off the air, that desire was gone.  I still want to go to Axxess.  I still want to go to the Hall of Fame.  ROH shows sound awesome.  NXT Takeover sounds phenomenal.  Wrestlemania…yeah, I may just come on home and catch that one on the Network.  Tonight’s Raw…normally the best Raw of the year…I really don’t want to watch it.  I may not.

I’m not one of the ones who’s going to tell you to cancel the WWE Network over this, because as long as they offer the thing, I’ll never cancel it.  I love wrestling and wrestling history too much to lose access to as much of it as the WWE gives me.  But…I’m even more out of love with WWE than I’ve been in a while.  I won’t be going to the Smackdown show in June.  I won’t be going to any live events.  I probably won’t be watching any PPVs for a while.  No, I’ll stick with Nitro, and NXT, and stuff like that.  It’s weird…this company puts out things that I enjoy…I just wish a few of them could happen in the ring with the main roster.

Here we are at WWE’s Payback. You guys know the formula. Let’s see what we think this month…

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Fatal Four Way Match: Seth Rollins vs Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose vs Randy Orton

Robbie’s Pick: Randy Orton – Kane will be “fired” and I see Seth and Kane working an angle going forward without the title. I know there’s a lot os speculation in a Shield Reunion and that would be pretty cool too. Not real sure on this one honestly but sadly I do think a title change is needed and Randy is super hot again with the fans as their top baby face.

Shane’s Pick: Seth Rollins

Derick’s Pick: Seth Rollins – Punk wanted the Championship to not constantly be involved in a game of Hot Potato. Maybe that will be the one tip from him the WWE may actually use for booking.

WWE United States Championship “I Quit” Match: John Cena vs Rusev

Robbie’s Pick: John Cena – I’m marking out so much for this current Cena… there, I said it. This is the coolest I have seen Cena in a long long time and I’m absolutely loving this angle. The old me would make a joke about Rusev’s fate being sealed once it was announced as an I Quit Match but the new me just finds Rusev 100% un-entertaining. “LET’S GO CENA….”

Shane’s Pick: Cena

Derick’s Pick: Rusev – Still not picking Cena… not really sure what’s up with Rob being pro-Cena again…but yeah, still not picking Cena. “CENA SUCKS!”

WWE Tag Team Championship 2 out of 3 Falls Match: The New Day vs Tyson Kidd & Cesaro

Robbie’s Pick: The New Day – The fans are right. New Day Sucks for sure…. :/ I’d love for Cesaro and Kidd to reclaim the belts but Vince won’t allow it….probably because the team is half Swiss….

Shane’s Pick: The New Day

Derick’s Pick: Cesaro & Kidd – I’m never picking The New Day too, remember?

Ryback vs Bray Wyatt

Robbie’s Pick: Ryback – As much as I love Bray I really do believe it’s time to get Ryback back in the main picture. That Cena and Punk story he was involved in hurt him and he’s been slowly climbing back up the ladder.

Shane’s Pick: Bray Wyatt – This is a match?  Odd.

Derick’s Pick: Bray WyattHe lost at Wrestlemania let’s give him this one.

Dolph Ziggler vs Sheamus

Robbie’s Pick: Dolph Ziggler – I think this may be the 2nd time Dolph gets one over on Sheamus and causes him to absolutly snap and become an even more violent and vengeful heel character. #PUSHDOLPH

Shane’s Pick: Sheamus – I refuse to believe that they will ever push new, exciting talent over Sheamus.

Derick’s Pick: Sheamus – Minus the hair.

King Barrett vs Neville

Robbie’s Pick: King Barrett – Remember when Sheamus won King of The Ring and became a fool losing every week on TV because he pissed someone off in the back? Well I don’t think Barrett has done that but it seems he hasn’t had any luck against Neville on TV. I got a feeling both guys will shine on this match but Barrett will win overall.

Shane’s Pick: Barrett – Because I like Neville and can’t stand Barrett.

Derick’s Pick – King Barrett – Bull Hammer, son!

Curtis Axel and Macho Mandow vs The Ascension

Robbie’s Pick: Curtis Axel & Macho Mandow – Do I really need to explain Mega Powers 2.0? 🙂

Shane’s Pick: The Ascension – Just to be contrary.

Derick’s Pick:  Curtis Axel & Macho Mandow- Wouldn’t that be the best thing EVER…. OF ALL TIME!?

Tamina & Naomi vs The Bella Twins

Robbie’s Pick: Tamina & Naomi – We haven’t seen Tamina in a long time so lets go with her team.

Shane’s Pick: Bellas

Derick’s Pick:  Tamina & Naomi – Nobody wins. Everybody loses.

Hey we are at the second PPV of the Year, WWE’s Fast Lane. Fast Lane as you know by now has taken the place of Elimination Chamber which overall we think will be a good idea. Elimination Chamber has always seemed out of place and logically I think this PPV will fit more with the “Road to Wrestlemania” theme. Hopefully its debut will not be a disappointment and go over a bit better witht he fans than The Royal Rumble did. Let’s take a moment and look at our predictions for WWE’s newest PPV…

WWE World Heavywight Championship No. 1 Contenders Match: Daniel Bryan vs Roman Reigns

Robbie’s Pick: Daniel Bryan – I truly and honestly want to believe WWE has realized that the fans simply just do not want Roman Reigns as their top guy at this time. Daniel is apparently the money maker on the roster right now. Hopefully WWE likes money.

Shane’s Pick: Roman Reigns – I just see this match existing to shut up the fans who don’t like Reigns, but only for a moment because Reigns is the guy right now and there’s no way he’s not going to Mania.

Derick’s Pick: Roman Reigns – Roman Reigns wins this match but somehow someway Daniel Bryan will be in the Main Event of Wrestlemania.

United States Championship match: Rusev vs John Cena

Robbie’s Pick: John Cena – I know right!? You’re probably shocked but I see this as a good thing. Cena going after the secondary titles will be overall good for multiple reasons. It can help give some more credibility to them, it will keep Cena away from Ric’s 16 time record, allow the kids to have their winning hero and honestly I just don’t care about Rusev at all. Like Shane has said on multiple occasions “This isn’t 1983 anymore.” That being said I wouldn’t be surprised if this story leads into Wrestlemania with Hogan in Cena’s corner… AMERICA!

Shane’s Pick: John Cena via shenanigans – They really couldn’t wait until Mania?  That’s the worst part of WWE’s booking right now…they build up to a match by giving you the same match over and over again.  Cena wins but doesn’t get the belt, setting up the same match at Mania.

Derick’s Pick: Rusev – I don’t even know enough about about this big Russian bastard but I’m sticking to my guns. I hate Cena and said I’m not picking him so there!

Intercontinental Championship Match: Bad New Barrett vs Dean Ambrose

Robbie’s Pick: Dean Ambrose – Dean lost enough of his matches during the Bray Wyatt feud. Time for him to be like his former Shield brother and “look strong” Giving him the IC strap is the thing he needs at this time.

Shane’s Pick: Wade Barrett – As much as I want Ambrose to win this, I just figure Barrett retains.

Derick’s Pick:  Dean Ambrose – I like them both so this was a literally a coin toss decision.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos vs Cesaro and Tyson Kidd

Robbie’s Pick: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd – It’s long overdue for Cesaro to be wearing some gold again in WWE. I’m really digging this team and Cesaro knows a thing or two about being a tag team wrestler. If they are not going to push him as a single competitor let him do what he does best! Maybe Tyson will get the recognition he deserves as well.

Shane’s Pick: The Usos – Giving Kidd & Cesaro makes too much sense, so I figure we’ll go the other way.  Plus, we’ll get to see how much heat Cesaro got for his Twitter being hacked and it saying that he wishes Vince would die already.  Yeah, I know it wasn’t HIM, but still…

Derick’s Pick – Cesaro and Tyson Kidd – You know why? I hate The Usos…. USO DUMB!!!!! STUPID!!!! STUPID!!!!

Dolph Ziggler, Ryback & Erick Rowan vs The Authority

Robbie’s Pick: Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan – Seems like this match was randomly thrown together and Seth may be in a little bit of hot water for his little “Social Media incident”

Shane’s Pick: Team Babyfaces – Because logic.

Derick’s Pick: Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan – Big Show is trying to tie Rey Myeterio’s knee injuries with Face/Heel Turns. Go get ’em Big guy!

Goldust vs Stardust

Robbie’s Pick: Stardust – Maybe Goldust will drop the paint and just be Dustin after this match blows over. Leaving Cody in the paint and the “Crazy one” of the family.

Shane’s Pick: Stardust – Again, why do this before Mania?  Ugh!  Cody as Stardust is killing it right now, so I like him sticking around a little longer.

Derick’s Pick: Goldust – Why you even asking me that? You know where my allegiance lie. I’d follow that guy to the gates of Hell and carry him back! LOVE THAT GUY!

WWE Diva’s Championship Match: Nikki Bella vs Paige

Robbie’s Pick: Paige – Despite the on again off again Bella feud the past year I still think we are getting a Nikki vs Brie match at Wrestlemania.

Shane’s Pick: Nikki Bella – I’m taking Robbie’s logic, and applying the fact that the Nikki VS Brie match will be for the title, so Nikki retains.  Gotta get the story line for Season 19 of Total Divas worked in there somehow!

Derick’s Pick:  Paige – Not picking Nikki anymore either….stupid Cena!

Ok Guys! So here we are fresh off what many are considering a controversial Royal Rumble. While most don’t agree with the results of WWE’s annual event. Lets take a moment to see how our personal picks held up.

Derick – 5/6

Robbie – 4/6

Shane – 4/6

Starting off the new year very close. See you guys at Fast Lane as we continue onto the Road to Wrestlemania.

Ok Guys! I’m back! As you know I kinda slipped away from Wrestling over the past year and Shane has been carrying Kick Out at 2 by himself with his retro-journey back to WCW Nitro. As much as I have appreciated him carrying the torch in my absence, I figured it was time I returned to the site before he broke out the black spray paint can and attacked everything in site with three letter graffiti art.

What better way to make a return then with PPV Predictions returning at the beginning of a fresh year. Those of you that follow the site know the drill, so join as we share our thoughts and predictions on one of WWE’s most popular and anticipated events throughout the year.

WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match: Brock Lesnar vs John Cena vs Seth Rollins

Robbie’s Pick: Brock Lesnar – I’m going with the safe bet here and picking that Brock retains. I feel WWE wants to get the most out of him while they still have him under contract, especially if the rumors of him leaving in the near future are true. I’m going with Brock to headline Wrestlemania after ending The Undertaker’s Streak last year, it seems like the only logical choice. Now whether Seth Rollin’s cashes in immediately after the title match, now that’s a whole other scenario.

Shane’s Pick: Brock Lesnar – I’m not going to lie…I originally typed John Cena and then erased it.  This is a tough call for me, but I could see them using Brock’s Streak Killing Wrestlemania to build Roman’s year, so we’ll go with Brock.  Just know that I almost picked Cena, which really hurt me on a couple of different levels.  All I can say is that Ambrose better be involved in some way.  I want him to keep his promise that he’ll stop Rollins from winning the championship every time he tries.

Derick’s Pick: Brock Lesnar – Brock’s a beast. In the famous words of Stan Lee… “‘Nuff said.”

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: The Usos vs The Miz & Damien Mizdow

Robbie’s Pick: The Usos – It’s time for Damien Sandow to go back to being his own man. I see The Miz blaming Damien for losing and being unable to recapture the tag team gold. Later in the night Damien will complete his face turn by eliminating and turning on The Miz later in the Royal Rumble match.

Shane’s Pick: The Usos – Please put a rocket on Sandow and have him start stomping the ever loving crap out of Miz!  I want Sandow vs Miz at Mania!

Derick’s Pick: The Usos – Regretfully it will be The Usos. Honestly, Damien and The Miz should have EVERY Title in WWE. There…I said it!

The New Age Outlaws vs The Ascension

Robbie’s Pick: The Ascension – I find it funny that everyone is complaining that The Ascension were “buried” by older talent last week. Ummm, hello! That’s old school wrestling and the purpose of a reunion show. Yes, that night the Legends looked strong by taking out “the bad guys”, giving us a feel good moment, but The Ascension will pull out a victory here and will not lose a step after Monday’s run in with the WWE veterans.

Shane’s Pick: The New Age Outlaws – Robbie can find it funny all he wants, but The Ascension were harmed beyond repair in my opinion.  You bring two guys up and are trying to make them the new badass tag team on the block, then have them cut a weak ass promo, look like jokes and get taken out by a ring full of 50 year old men.  The right way to get heat on these guys would have been to have them destroy a few of the Legends and then get chased off by the numbers, but no, an announcer took them out.  I don’t care what he used to be…to the fans today, JBL is an announcer, and an announcer destroyed this tag team.  They may as well have the Outlaws go over and ship these guys back to NXT…their run in WWE has been ruined.

Derick’s Pick: The Ascension – 1999 Me wants to go with The New Age Outlaws but it’s 2015 now so I will just go with The Legion of Doom… wait, what year is it?

Natalya & Paige vs The Bellas

Robbie’s Pick: Natayla and Paige – I’m just now getting back into wrestling so lets not get too crazy looking for logic in a random Diva’s Match shall we?

Shane’s Pick: The Bellas – I’m don’t watch the current product anymore because it’s constantly 1996 up in my house (re-live it along with me with Kick Out At Nitro!) but is there only one babyface in this match?  Last I checked, Paige was a heel.  Natty manages a heel tag team…are there ANY babyfaces in this match?  Logic?  What?

Derick’s Pick: The Bellas – Picking them is 50/50 here because one of them is banging Cena. The other is always saying YES, thanks to Daniel Bryan. One guy who can’t win and one guy who won’t lose. Pooling advice from their significant others will make them an evenly balanced team.

Royal Rumble Pre-Show: The New Day vs Cesaro, Tyson Kidd & Adam Rose

Robbie’s Pick: The New Day – May as well go with the faces pulling out a win here to set the tone of the show. As much as I love Cesaro and would love to see him win I have to pick the new tag team that they are trying to push on us.

Shane’s Pick: The New Day – I really want to pick Cesaro, but I’m really against throwing two guys together and making them a tag team, especially when one of them should be in the upper mid card but isn’t because “I don’t know…maybe it’s because he’s Swiss…”  Dear Lord.  Anyway, at least The New Day have matching gear and look like a real team.  The other is three guys who WWE has no ideas for and I’m not supporting this kind of booking anymore.

Derick’s Pick:  Cesaro, Tyson Kidd and Adam Rose – I honestly didn’t know what The New Day was until Rob explained it to me. That’s terrible. I don’t care who else they are facing from here on in, I will always pick whoever they are fighting. God…STUPID! STUPID!

The Royal Rumble Match

Robbie’s Pick: Roman Reigns – At this point it’s hard not to pick him. With Brock vs Reigns having been talked about well before Brock won the title at Summerslam it pretty much has to happen. Daniel Bryan returning was something they didn’t take into consideration but would be an excellent alternative if they chose to not go the cookie cutter route. At the end of the day though I still think Reigns is who WWE currently favors and has plans for this Wrestlemania Season.

Shane’s Pick: Roman Reigns – Sorry, Daniel, but it’s time for Roman to look strong.  Is Roman ready…hell no.  Should it be someone else?  Yell yeah!  However, that hype train for Reigns has started up and it’s time to groom our new Cena.  Thing is, to me, this is as good a choice as any.  I can’t tell you anyone who SHOULD win the Rumble this year because none of it makes sense other than maybe Bryan trying to get his title back.

Derick’s Pick – Dean Ambrose – Creatively it would be handing him the keys to the kingdom and breathing some much needed fresh air into the title picture. Rollins vs Ambrose in the title picture? Please take my $9.99 a month, Hunter!
